Environmental Leadership

We just completed the City of Port Coquitlam's first ever Environmental Strategic Plan, EnviroPlan. Through the development of the EnviroPlan we engaged a wide variety of stakeholders, including environmental groups, local businesses, developers and our residents. The outcome is a strong direction that will guide our decisions moving forward. We must work together to have a positive impact on our environment, we must think about future generations when make decisions today. 

• Incorporate environmental priorities into corporate decisions
• Reduce greenhouse gas emissions and work towards a net zero carbon community
• Implement programs to conserve water and protect community waterways and wildlife habitat
• Develop a farming strategy to support local food and agriculture
• Increase waste diversion beyond 70%
