Currently Erin Moore is the co-owner and operator of Liveable Region Consulting. One of her main contracts she enjoys at the present time is in the role of Director of Development and Grant Writer at Hope Lutheran Christian School in Port Coquitlam.

Erin Moore has 27 years of public and private sector Parks and Recreation experience. Prior to joining PERC (Professional Environmental Recreation Consultants), Erin has worked in Municipal government, private sector services, owner of an outdoor recreation company and an education instructor at Langara College.

Erin was born and raised in Port Coquitlam, BC. She obtained her Diploma in Recreation Leadership from Langara College, Diploma in Marketing Management from BCIT and Master of Arts Degree in Leadership and Training from Royal Roads University.

Erin started her recreation career working for the City of Port Coquitlam for 13 years. In Port Coquitlam Erin had many roles within the organization ranging from youth programming to managing the wellness centre. It was in Port Coquitlam that Erin introduced the first ever in BC, Girls on the Move program. The municipality won awards for its success. Erin was instrumental in working with the BCRPA to deliver gender equity training to many organizations around BC.

Erin then worked for the Sutton Place Hotel, as the Department Facility Manager in the Health, Fitness and Wellness Spa. In this role Erin gained valuable experience dealing in a Five Diamond hotel, one of only five in Canada. Erin spent three years with the City of Port Moody gaining experience as a facility Manager. In 1993 Erin founded Women’s Only Mountain Biking, a service to teach women how to mountain bike, gain confidence and self-esteem and meet new friends. Over the 10 years of owning Women’s Only Mountain Biking the company taught over 10,000 women to mountain bike. The success was a result of working with strategic partners such as School Boards and Parks and Recreation Departments throughout BC. Erin’s goal of completing her Master’s Degree in Leadership allowed her to enjoy 4 years as a fulltime-core instructor with Langara College in the Human Kinetics and Recreation Department teaching courses such as, Marketing for Recreation, Leadership for Recreation and Program Planning just to name a few.
 

Erin has:

  • Consulted with many organizations & companies to help them move their business forward and be successful
  • Worked with community stakeholders to develop a number of parks and recreation master plans & strategic plans
  • Been a key note speaker for Municipal P & R Departments, Community Colleges, BCPRA Annual Conferences
  • Conducted media interviews with local, regional and national news outlets
  • Implemented many special events, programs and courses for municipal governments
  • Developed Canada’s second “On the Move” program for girls to participate in a physically active non-competitive environment
  • Service on numerous community and provincial Board of Directors, including the Board of Directors of Promotion Plus, Coquitlam Volunteer Bureau, Municipal Advisory Committee On Disabilities and the Planning Committee for the 
    BC Summer Olympics.
  • Served as the Co-Chairperson, BC Recreation & Parks Association, Women's Issues Committee
  • Been awarded Promotion Plus Leadership Awards 2000 – Recipient of “Recognition of Contribution”, and Kaizen Award Recipient - Volunteer Community Recreation and Leisure

Family

Currently Erin is the President of the PTL at Hope Lutheran Christian School where her daughter, Madison, goes to school. Erin is a member of the church council at Riverside Community Church where the family attends church. She is the organizer of a local book club and is an avid golfer when time permits. Erin spends a great amount of time with Madison traveling to and from the local mountain where Madison is on the downhill ski team.
